It is recorded that Valdepeňas was one of the first regions in Spain to cultivate the wine grape. In the early 13th Century, the Knights of Santiago were established with responsibility for the care and protection of the vine. The Tempranillo grape has flourished here ever since.
This wine makes an excellent match with savoury pasta and meat dishes.
